How Long Does a Kitchen Remodel Really Take?

Friends of ours were in a bit of a pinch. They’d sold their house and had a month to move into their new place in Cedar Park. Their new kitchen, part of a bigger remodel, looked like it would take two to three months. But that wasn’t in the cards. They needed it done in four weeks, and that’s quite a timeline for a job like this.

I had to make sure we could actually do it before committing. The kitchen by itself was a challenge: cabinets usually take two to three weeks from order to delivery, but the cabinet maker I’ve worked with for years pulled out all the stops to make it happen on time. And that’s just one piece of the puzzle. With glass railings, a plastered fireplace wall, an epoxy garage floor, and a whole-house repaint added into the mix, it took a lot of moving parts to line up just right. It worked because there was someone in that house every single day.

But let’s be honest: a normal kitchen remodel isn’t wrapped up in four weeks. Realistically, a timeline depends on the scope of work and how long it takes for materials to arrive. It needs an honest assessment at the start, and any contractor who’s worth trusting will walk you through what you can realistically expect. That’s something I’ve stuck by—under-promise, over-deliver.

A schedule you can trust is one set honestly around what the job and the materials really need. That’s how we make sure you know what’s going on from day one.
