Driving into Avery Ranch, it’s easy to see the appeal of this master-planned community. Built out in the 2000s, every street here has a neat, orderly look. The homes are solid, but you can’t miss how a handful of floor plans repeat from one block to the next. The HOA keeps a tight rein on the exteriors, so the only real opportunity to put your stamp on your home is inside.
We recently tackled a similar challenge at Big Tree Trail in Leander. Those houses are a lot like what you’ll find in Avery Ranch. Same idea with the floor plans, the same sense of being one among many. What made the difference there were the things we brought inside. We added built-ins where emptiness once was, put in a bar for gathering, and transformed what used to be a walk-through into a proper pantry. We rebuilt the master bath around a freestanding tub that openly invites you in, and swapped out the old, choppy flooring for something that runs seamlessly through the whole downstairs instead of stopping short at doorways and transitioning to something else.
The floor plan stayed the same. But those changes—inside the walls, where it matters—made that house into something distinctly theirs, not just one in a builder’s parade. It was the first time the house didn’t feel like just one of six copies.
When we talk about where we want to work next, Avery Ranch was the first place that came up. These communities have exactly the kind of homes we’ve done in Leander, and it’s well inside our drive from Jarrell.
An Avery Ranch house stops looking like the one next door on the inside. It’s in the walls you open and the details you put in, and the floor plan can stay right where it is. Tell us about your house and we’ll come walk it with you, no pressure and no obligation. Reach out through the website or call us at (512) 948-9802.
